Lois M. Darr, 93

Lois M. Darr, age 93, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022, after a long and blessed life.

Born and raised in Ocean City, N.J., and a Mount Laurel resident since 1957, she is pre-deceased by parents William B., Sr. and Elizabeth M. Fry (nee Fowler).  Professional and academic backgrounds were chemistry and Bible, with additional experience and expertise in microbiology and medical research.  Her career began in the early 1950s at Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa.  Later in her career, she was with Betz Laboratories, Inc., Philadelphia and Trevose, Pa., for 37 years, as a laboratory technician and later as a Regulatory Affairs administrative assistant.  She was an alumna of Ocean City (N.J.) High School, class of 1946, and of The King’s College, class of 1950 (Delaware City, Del., now located in New York, N.Y.).

In addition to music, having been trained in voice and piano, she was a choir director in various churches as well as having interests in reading, history, knitting and sewing; multi-talented in so many ways.  

In addition to her parents, she is pre-deceased by husband John F. (Jack) Darr, Sr., of Altoona and Philadelphia, Pa., as well as sisters Carole Anne (Cancelmo), Jessie (Smith), Marian (Price), Lillian (Fry) and brothers Walter, Robert, and William B., Jr.  

She is survived by her sons Walter R., of Hightstown and Mount Laurel, and John F., Jr., of Mount Laurel.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., both at the Wiley Church, 101 E. Main St., Marlton, N.J.  08053.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, N.J.  Arrangements by the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals.
