Judith is preceded in death by her parents John and Norma West and her granddaughter Baby Langenfelder. Also survived by other loving family and friends.

Judy was born and raised in Ocean City, New Jersey. She is a graduate of Ocean City High School and has worked many jobs on the OCNJ boardwalk, including managing Loooies and Gertrude’s clothing stores.

She went on to Brandywine College in Wilmington, Delaware where she would meet the love of her life, Kevin before earning an Associates Degree in Fashion Merchandising. She would later graduate from Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science with a Bachelors of Science in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Business.

Following college, Judy and Kevin would marry on February 23, 1980 in OCNJ Presbyterian Church. Soon after she would move to Maryland and put her education to use as the manager of Susie’s Casuals in Columbia, followed by Hit or Miss in Timonium.

1983 was an important year for Judy as she gave birth to her first son Karl. Later that year she would leave the fashion industry to pursue her passion for interior design by becoming a franchise owner of TransDesigns. Just two years later, she welcomed her second son Karson.

In 1993 she opened her own business JTL Designs. Throughout her career she provided residential and commercial interior design services to hundreds of people and businesses in Harford County and the greater Maryland area. She would also volunteer her design and event organizing services to several AMC (Chesapeake Cancer Alliance) Decorator Showhouses.

In 1998, she answered a newspaper advertisement for a textile company out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, for an outside sales rep for the MD, DE, DC, and VA at FABRICUT, Inc. She would go on to serve this company, its employees, and the countless clients she so deeply admired for the next 24 years. She most recently served in the role of Vice President of Sales until her passing.

Her passions in life were God, family, and work. She would find moments to relax and enjoy life, especially on visits to the Jersey Shore and in Montego Bay, Jamaica. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and two sons.

When Judy was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2018, she fought her battle head-on. Her motto was “Warrior, no worrier.” She praised the doctors and nurses from Johns Hopkins Hospital who gave everything of themselves to help Judy in her fight.

Judy will be best remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother, an affectionate friend, a driven salesperson, an extravagant hostess, and a beautiful soul.
