Joan Carolyn Wallis Miedama, 90, died Feb. 5, 2021.
She was born on August 23, 1930 in Morrisville, Pennsylvania to Leslie Jerome Wallis and Vera Margerum Wallis. Joan graduated at the top of her class at Morrisville High School in 1948 and was proud to be the Honor Soloist. Additionally, she excelled at field hockey, basketball, and cheerleading.
Joan married Donald Leonard Miedama on September 8, 1952 and was widowed on January 1, 1996. She was a successful real estate agent at Fulper Realty and Prudential, Fox and Roach in Yardley, Pennsylvania. The Jersey shore, ski slopes, and the tennis court were her favorite places. She was a wonderful mother to Dr. Donna Miedama Carr of San Diego, California and Mark Daines Miedama of Ocean City, New Jersey and was “Nanny” to Kristin and Matthew Carr, and Mark, Meridith, and Phoebe Miedama. She was predeceased by her sisters, Elaine Low and Marjorie LeGoff.
In 2013 she moved from Yardley to her home in Ocean City, New Jersey where she peacefully lost her battle with Alzheimers Disease on February 5, 2021. She was laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Thompson Memorial Cemetery in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
