Goldcoast condo offers shore vacation oasis in popular neighborhood

OCEAN CITY — The fantastic first-floor condominium at 2120 Wesley Ave. is just a block from the white-sand beaches of the  central Goldcoast neighborhood.

Ocean City is one of the most popular shore resorts on the East Coast, featuring a 2.5-mile-long oceanfront boardwalk filled with hundreds of shopping, dining and entertainment venues, as well as miles and miles of pristine beaches. There also is an award-winning downtown business district centered on Asbury Avenue and a watersports district around Third Street on Bay Avenue.

A great location doesn’t only mean beachfront or bayfront on this 8-mile-long island — there are 10 distinct neighborhoods, each with its own characteristics. The Gardens is popular with many for its slow pace, huge beaches and winding, pedestrian-friendly streets.

The Riviera is a boater’s paradise with many Mediterranean-style homes set right on inland lagoons. The Central neighborhood is bustling with business both downtown and on the boardwalk, while the Southend is narrow with fewer homes and room to stretch out. The Northend contains many of the island’s historic homes and Merion Park, in the south, features wetlands and wildlife along with wonderful sunset views.

The Goldcoast, from 18th to 34th streets, is centrally located between the Northend starting at North Street and the Southend ending at 59th Street. It is highly residential but peppered with mom-and-pop shops and features some of the most amazing beachfront properties on the island.

Featuring four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a powder room and open-layout great room, the 1,533-square-foot home is being sold fully furnished and turnkey ready.

Out front, the asymmetrical home has a grassy front yard with mulched beds. A concrete walk leads down the right to a sheltered stairwell, where a short flight rises to the side entrance.

Tall shrubs flank the composite steps rising to the covered front porch, which is deeper on the left, providing a cozy nook to sit and relax after a long day on the beach.

An impressive front entrance off the composite-decked porch features a swinging glass door with a side panel and transoms flanked by tall windows.

The door opens into the sitting area of the great room, which has narrow-plank real hardwood flooring and a 9-foot cathedral ceiling. A sofa, love seat and armchair sit atop an area rug in front of the gas fireplace, which has a wood mantel and large-screen television above.

Situated in the front corner, the dining area features a long wood table just inside two double windows just steps away from the kitchen.

An L-shaped island with a granite countertop provides overflow seating on three stools and some Merillat cabinets, while more are found along two walls.

Stainless steel appliances include a four-burner range/oven with a microwave above, a dishwasher to the left of a porcelain sink and a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with a smart screen.

A short flight of stairs rises to the second level, where the powder room is conveniently located just at the top.

Across the hall is the first bedroom, featuring wall-to-wall carpet and twin beds.

Back on the left, the second bedroom has a queen-size bed, space for an easy chair and a large closet with double bi-fold doors.

The hall bathroom is well-appointed with tile flooring, a granite-topped vanity beneath a large mirror and a tub/shower tiled to the ceiling with sliding glass doors.

In the rear left, the third bedroom has bunk beds, a single over a double.

The primary bedroom is in the rear right, featuring an ensuite bath and access to a private covered back deck. The king-size bed rests atop wall-to-wall carpet. A walk-in closet opens off one side.

The primary bath has a tile floor, granite-topped vanity with dual sinks beneath a large mirror and a large shower tiled to the ceiling with a swinging glass door and window.

Out back, a gravel parking pad provides space for one to two cars, with another inside the garage, where there also is an enclosed shower.

The property is listed for $1,799,999 with Peter Madden of Goldcoast Sotheby’s HomeServices, Fox & Roach Realtors. Call (609) 513-4781 or email peter.madden@sothebysrealty.com for more information or to set up an appointment to see this wonderful home.
