Gillian to announce re-election bid Sunday

OCEAN CITY – Mayor Jay Gillian will officially announce his run for re-election at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, in front of the carousel at Wonderland Pier on the Ocean City Boardwalk.

Gillian has served for three terms and is seeking his fourth in the May election.

Longtime at-large City Councilman Keith Hartzell announced in September that he plans to run for mayor. Hartzell has served on Ocean City Council since 2006.

All three at-large council seats, including those held by Pete Madden and Karen Bergman, are up in the May election.

No other candidates have officially announced a run for mayor or City Council.
