Fewer COVID deaths in Atlantic County

As the number of new cases of COVID-19 and related deaths reported in Atlantic County have fallen over the past week, residents are still listed at very high risk, along with residents of all of New Jersey counties.

There were five deaths attributed to the coronavirus between April 13 and 19 and 592 new cases, according to the Atlantic County Division of Public Health.

Atlantic County is closing in on 200,000 doses of vaccines administered. As of Monday, April 19, 192,448 doses had been administered in the county. Across the state, 3,807,986 people had received at least one vaccine dose and just over 2.5 million had been fully vaccinated, according to the New Jersey Department of Health.

Daily numbers

Monday, April 19: There was one death, a 77-year-old Galloway woman with pre-existing conditions, and 47 new cases among residents from 1 to 76 years old.

There were two new cases in Somers Point and one each in Linwood and Northfield.

Other new cases included Egg Harbor Township (14), Pleasantville (8), Hamilton Township (7), Atlantic City and Ventnor (3 each), Brigantine and Galloway Township (2 each), and one each in Margate, Absecon, Hammonton and Buena Borough.

Sunday, April 18: There were 89 new cases among 52 females from 7 to 81 years old and among 37 males from 7 to 88 years old.

There were three new cases in Somers Point and one each in Linwood and Northfield.

Other new cases included Atlantic City (21), Egg Harbor Township (16), Pleasantville (13), Ventnor (7), Brigantine and Hamilton Township (6 each), Galloway Township (4), Hammonton and Buena Vista Township (3 each), Absecon and Mullica Township (2 each) and Margate (1)

Saturday, April 17: There were 83 new cases among 46 females from 4 to 88 years old and among 37 males from 2 to 85 years old.

There were three cases each in Somers Point and Linwood and one in Northfield.

Other new cases included Atlantic City (18), Egg Harbor Township and Pleasantville (11 each), Galloway Township (10), Hamilton Township (8), Ventnor and Buena Vista Township (3 each), Absecon and Hammonton (2 each), and one each in Margate, Absecon, Folsom, Buena Borough, Mullica Township and Weymouth Township.

Friday, April 16: There were 101 new cases among 60 females from 2 to 79 years old and 41 males from 1 month to 82 years old.

There were five new cases in each of Linwood and Somers Point.

Other new cases included Atlantic City (19), Pleasantville (13), Egg Harbor Township (12), Absecon, Galloway Township and Hamilton Township (8 each), Brigantine (6), Hammonton and Mullica Township (3 each), Margate, Buena Borough, Buena Vista Township and Egg Harbor City (2 each), and Ventnor, Estell Manor and Weymouth Township (1 each).

Thursday, April 15: There were two deaths, an 86-year-old Galloway man who resided in a long-term care facility and an 88-year-old Somers Point man, and 102 new cases among 55 females from 3 to 89 years old and 47 males from 3 months to 78 years old.

There was one new case in each of Somers Point, Linwood and Northfield.

Other new cases included Egg Harbor Township (18), Atlantic City (16), Galloway Township (15), Hamilton Township and Pleasantville (10 each), Hammonton (8), Ventnor (6), Buena Vista Township (4), Absecon and Buena Borough (3 each), and one each in Brigantine, Egg Harbor City, Estell Manor and Folsom.

Wednesday, April 14: There were two deaths – a 60-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman, both from Atlantic City – and 103 new cases among 62 females from 2 to 95 years old and 41 among males from 7 months to 81 years old. There were two new cases in Northfield and one each in Linwood and Somers Point.

Other new cases included Egg Harbor Township (12), Atlantic City (20), Pleasantville (10), Hammonton (9), Brigantine and Hamilton Township (7 each), Mullica Township (3), Absecon, Buena Borough, Ventnor and Buena Vista Township (2 each), and one each in Margate, Estell Manor and Weymouth Township.

Tuesday, April 13: There were 67 cases among 33 females from 5 months to 91 years old and 34 males from 9 to 76 years old.

There were four new cases in Somers Point and two in Northfield.
