Erik T. Hostvedt, 75

Erik T. Hostvedt passed away on August 22, 2022 at the age of 75. He will be remembered by his wife of 50 years Jill C. Hostvedt, children and grandchildren as a loving husband and father.

Erik loved the Lord, his family, his country, and seeing people accomplish great things at the companies he built and the activities in which he participated.

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31.

Erik graduated with a degree in Business and Engineering from Drexel University. He served in the Army in the Quartermasters Corps. Erik got his start in business at Drexel through pioneering the food truck “The Sandwich Man” where Jill was his favorite sandwich girl. Erik went on to build several businesses including HPI Sales, Automaton Distribution, and MDCI Automation all in the industrial automation industry. Erik was an active member of the churches he attended both in Doylestown, PA at Covenant Church and Ocean City, NJ at the Ocean City Tabernacle where he served many years on the Board of Trustees.

Erik enjoyed competitive sailing with his family through the Ocean City Yacht Club as well as golf, as a founding member of Union League National. He played racquetball, tennis, skiing, and was often spotted vigorously walking the grounds of Pine Run with a stick. He will be remembered for his quick wit, contagious smile, infectious laugh and encouraging words. He will be greatly missed.
