EHT leader in Atlantic County’s coronavirus cases

Hammonton and Galloway have seen the most fatalities over past 10 months

There were just under a thousand new cases of COVID-19 over the past week in Atlantic County and 15 fatalities attributed to the coronavirus.

The bulk of the nearly 15,000 cases reported since the pandemic began in March have been in Egg Harbor Township (2,531) followed by Atlantic City (1,813), Pleasantville (1,686) Galloway Township (1,672), Hammonton (1,391) and Hamilton Township (1,313).

Hammonton and Galloway Township have recorded the most fatalities, 62 and 55, respectively, according to the Atlantic County Division of Public Health, followed by Northfield (36), Pleasantville (35), Egg Harbor Township (34), Atlantic City (32) and Absecon (30).

Northfield has had 559 cases, Somers Point has had 461 cases and seven fatalities, and Linwood has had 349 cases and 21 fatalities.

There have been 418 cases and nine deaths in Ventnor, 266 cases and two deaths in Margate and 35 cases and one death in Longport.

Tiny Corbin City has regifted no fatalities and only 10 cases. Other towns with no fatalities induce Estell Manor, Folsom and Port Republic.

Daily statistics

Monday, Jan. 4: There were 81 new cases of COVID-19 among 45 males from 4 to 84 years old and 36 females from 14 to 94 years old.

There were six cases in Northfield, five in Somers Point and two in Linwood.

There were 17 cases in Egg Harbor Township, 13 in Galloway Township, six in Absecon, five each in Ventnor and Atlantic City, four each in Egg Harbor City and Hamilton Township, three each in Margate and Hammonton, two each in Pleasantville, Buena Vista Township and Weymouth Township, and one each in Longport and Brigantine.

Sunday, Jan. 3: There was one death, an 83-year-old Ventnor man with pre-existing conditions, and 110 new cases among 63 women from 11 to 98 years old and 47 males from 1 to 91 years old.

There were six cases in Somers Point, five in Northfield and two in Linwood

There were 20 cases in Hamilton Township, 16 in Galloway Township, 15 in Egg Harbor Township, 11 in Atlantic City, six each in Absecon and Pleasantville, five in Mullica Township, four each in Buena Borough and Buena Vista Township, three in Egg Harbor City, two eachin Ventnor and Margate and one each in Brigantine, Corbin City and Hammonton.

Saturday, Jan. 2: There were two deaths, a 19-year-old woman with pre-existing conditions and a 58-year-old man, both from Egg Harbor City, and 196 new cases.

There were 102 new cases among females from 4 months to 93 years old and among 94 males from 1 to 90 years old.

There were seven new cases in Northfield, three in Somers Point and two in Linwood.

There were 40 cases in Egg Harbor Township, 27 in Pleasantville, 19 in Galloway Township, 18 in Atlantic City, 16 in Ventnor, 11 each in Hammonton and Hamilton Township, nine in Absecon, seven each in Brigantine and Buena Borough, five each in Buena Vista and Mullica townships, two each in Margate, Longport, Estell Manor and Egg Harbor City, and one in Weymouth Township.

Friday, Jan. 1: There were two fatalities, an 85-year-old Egg Harbor City woman and an 88-year-old Galloway Township man, and 156 new cases involving 90 females from 1 to 86 years old and 66 males from 1 to 89 years old.

There were eight new cases in Somers Point, seven in Northfield and two in Linwood.

There were 36 cases in Eg Harbor township, 21 in Pleasantville, 17 each in Atlantic City and galloway Township, 11 in Hamilton Township, nine in Hammonton, six in Buena Borough, five in Egg Harbor City, three each in Margate and Buena Vista Township, two each in Brigantine and Mullica Township, and one each in Corbin City, Ventnor, Absecon, Estell Manor and Folsom.

Thursday, Dec. 31: There were two fatalities and 177 new cases. The fatalities were an 89-year-old Ventnor man and an 80-year-old Egg Harbor Township man, both with pre-existing conditions.

Of the new cases, 100 were among females from 1 month old to 89 years old and 77 were among males from 11 months old to 89 years old.

There were seven cases in each of Somers Point and Northfield and five in Linwood.

There wee 38 cases in Egg Harbor Township, 19 Kachin Galloway and Hamilton townships, 16 each in Hammonton and Atlantic City, 11 in Pleasantville, eight in Ventnor, six in Brigantine, five in Buena Vista Township, four each in Absecon and Buena Borough, three each in Margate and Folsom, two each in Egg Harbor City and Weymouth Township, and one eat in Longport and Mullica Township.

Wednesday, Dec. 30: There were three fatalities and 131 new cases among county residents from 1 to 82 years old.

The fatalities include an 81-year-old Somers Point man, an 81-year-old Galloway woman and an 85-year-old Weymouth Township man, all with pre-existing conditions.

There were five cases in each of Northfield and Somers Point and three in Linwood.

There were 37 cases in Egg Harbor Township, 17 in Hammonton, nine each in Absecon and Atlantic City, eight Kachin Galloway Township and Pleasantville, six each n Buena Borough, Hamilton Township and Margate, five in Brigantine, three in Ventnor and two each in Egg Harbor City and Mullica Township.

Tuesday, Dec. 29: There were five fatalities and 131 new cases among 70 males from 3 to 87 years old and 61 females from 9 to 80 years old.

Five deaths confirmed were one woman, an 80-year-old Brigantine resident, and four men, a 78-year-old Hamilton Township resident, an 80-year-old Galloway resident, an 88-year-old Somers Point resident, and a 65-year-old Absecon resident. All five had pre-existing conditions.

Somers Point had four new cases and Linwood and Northfield had two each.

There were 27 cases in Egg Harbor Township, 17 in Atlantic City, 16 each in Galloway and Hamilton townships, 10 in Pleasantville, seven each in Absecon and Hammonton, six in Egg Harbor City, four each in Brigantine, Buena Borough and Buena Vista Township, two in Ventnor and one each in Margate, Mullica Township and Weymouth Township.
