COVID-19 deaths in Sea Isle, Lower

Cape May County has seen two more fatalities related to COVID-19 over the past week.

The most recent death was reported Monday, Sept. 28, a 71-year-old man from Lower Township. On Saturday, the county Department of Health announced the death of a 73-year-old man from Sea Isle City.

There have now been 92 coronavirus-related deaths in Cape May County. The total number of cases reported stood at 1,342 on Monday.

At the start of the week, there were 96 active cases among residents, three among non-residents and one in long-term care.

Of the active resident cases, 23 were in Middle Township, 17 each in Ocean City and Lower Township, and 10 in Upper Township. Additional cases included seven in Sea Isle City; five each in North Wildwood and Dennis Township; four in Wildwood; three in Woodbine; two in Stone Harbor; and one each in Cape May, West Wildwood and Wildwood Crest.

Among non-residents, there was one active case in each of Cape May, Ocean City and Sea Isle City. The long-term case was in Middle Township.

There were six new cases reported Monday among residents, including two in Ocean City and one each in Upper Township, Middle Township, Cape May and Wildwood. The one non-resident new case was in Sea Isle. There were no new cases reported in long-term care.

On Sunday, there were two new cases among residents, one in Ocean City and one in Wildwood.

On Saturday, there were two new cases among residents, one in Ocean City and one in Middle Township.

On Friday, Sept. 25, there were eight new cases among residents – three in Lower Township and one each in Ocean City, Sea Isle City, Upper Township, Middle Township and Dennis Township.

On Thursday, Sept. 24, the Department of Health reported 12 new cases among residents – three in Ocean City, two each in Upper Township, Lower Township and Middle Township; and one each in stone Harbor, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest.
