COVID-19 claims 10 lives in Atlantic County

County averaging more than 100 cases a day over the past week as well

COVID-19 claimed 10 lives in Atlantic County over the past week, including seven in one day. The county also averaged more than 100 new cases of COVID-19 each day.

According to the Atlantic County Division of Public Health, there were seven deaths attributed to the coronavirus on Saturday, one on Thanksgiving Day and two on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Between Nov. 24 and Nov. 30, there were 796 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, pushing the total through Monday to 9,299. There have been 287 deaths attributed to the coronavirus since the pandemic began.

Egg Harbor Township (1,467), Atlantic City (1,169), Pleasantville (1,047), Hammonton (1,044) and Galloway Township (1,002) account for roughly half of the county’s total.

Northfield has had 347 cases and 32 deaths, Linwood has had 207 cases and 14 deaths and Somers Point has seen 248 cases and two deaths.

Daily cases, fatalities

On Monday, Nov. 30, there were 81 new cases among 51 females from 2 years old to 82 and among 30 men from 18 to 91 years old.

Northfield had five cases and Linwood and Somers Point had four each.

Egg Harbor Township had 19 cases; Atlantic City had 10; Galloway Township, Hamilton Township and Hammonton had six each; Pleasantville had five; Absecon had four; Ventnor had three; Brigantine, Egg Harbor City and Folsom had two each; and Margate, Buena Vista Township and Mullica Township had two each.

Sunday, Nov. 29: There were 149 new cases of COVID-19 among 84 females from 3 to 88 years old and among 65 males from 5 to 78 yeas old.

There were seven cases in Northfield and five in Somers Point.

Egg Harbor Township led with 28 cases, Pleasantville had 15 cases, 14 in Hamilton Township, 13 each in Atlantic City and Galloway Township, 12 in Absecon, 11 in Hammonton and 10 in Ventnor. There were eight cases each in Margate and Brigantine, two each in Folsom and Buena Vista Township and one in Estell manor.

Saturday, Nov. 28: The Division of Public Health reported seven coronavirus-related deaths, with two in Hamilton Township and one each in Somers Point, Egg Harbor City, Absecon, Galloway Township and Pleasantville. Six were men and one was a Somers Point woman; all had pre-existing conditions.

There also were 57 new cases among 37 females from 7 to 99 years old and among 20 males from 3 to 96 years old.

Pleasantville had 11 cases, Egg Harbor Township had 10 cases, there were six each in Atlantic City, Galloway Township and Hamilton Township, five in Hammonton, four in margate, three each in Ventnor and Mullica Township; and one each in Northfield, Buena Borough and Absecon.

Friday, Nov. 27: There were 125 cases reported on Thanksgiving Day, 64 among females from 10 months old to 91 years old  and 61 among males from 7 to 99 years old. There also was one fatality.

Thursday, Nov. 26: There were 96 new cases among 50 males from 2 years old to 77 and 46 females from 11 to 94 years old.

Somers Point had five cases, Northfield had four and Linwood had one.

There were 24 cases in Egg Harbor Township, 12 in Atlantic City, nine in Galloway Township, eight in Hammonton, five each in Ventnor, Hamilton Township and Pleasantville, four in Mullica Township, three each in Absecon and Egg Harbor City, two each in Brigantine, Folsom and Buena Vista Township, and one each in Buena Borough and Margate.

Wednesday, Nov. 25: There were 104 cases with 50 among females from 8 months to 92 years old and 54 among males from 6 to 90 years old.

There were five each in Linwood and Northfield.

There were 25 new cases in Egg Harbor Township, 15 in Absecon, 12 each in Pleasantville and Hammonton, eight in Atlantic City, seven in Galloway Township, five in Ventnor, four in Hamilton Township, two in Brigantine, and one each in Margate, Estell Manor, Buena Borough and Mullica Township.

Tuesday, Nov. 24: There were 184 new cases of COVID-19 and two fatalities, a 59-year-old Hammonton man and an 87-year-old Galloway man, both with pre-existinig conditions, according to the Division of Public Health.

The new cases were among 113 females from 5 to 96 years old and among 71 males from 2 to 94 years old.

There were 12 cases in Somers Point, six in Northfield and one in Linwood.

Egg Harbor Township had the most with 34 cases, Hamilton Township had 27, Pleasantville had 26, Absecon and Galloway had 16 each, Hammonton and Atlantic City had 12 each, Egg Harbor City had seven, Margate had five, Brigantine and Buena Vista Township had four each and Estell Manor and Ventnor had one each.
