Catherine D. Piper

Catharine D. Piper, 86, of Beverly Hills, FL and Ocean City, NJ passed away peacefully on February 22, 2020 in Wesley Manor.

Born in Somers Point, NJ and lived most of her life in Ocean City, NJ.  She was the daughter of Naylor and Florence Drain.

She attended the Ocean City, NJ schools and graduated from high school class of 1951.   She was a graduate of West Chester University, 1955.

She was a third grade teacher for 31 years in Ocean City retiring in 1986.

She was a member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in Ocean City.   She was a member of the Eastern Star of NJ Chapter # 83.  She was a member for life of the NJ Retired Educators Association of Cape May, NJ, the New Jersey Education Association and the National Education Association.

She is survived by a niece: Judith Drain Stripay and husband Thomas of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, a nephew: Thomas Drain of Ann Arbor MI great niece and nephews: Pamela Iacono, Eric Stripay and Mark Stripay

She was predeceased by her beloved husband George and brother: Sims Drain.

Interment will be at the convenience of her family.

The family suggest those who desire send memorial contributions in Mrs. Piper’s memory to Asbury Endowment Fund c/o St. Peter’ United Methodist Church, 8th Street at Central Avenue, Ocean City, NJ 08226.
