Beautiful bayfront views highlight boaters haven at Gardens single family

OCEAN CITY — If the words “beautiful,” “bayfront” and “view” are among your favorites when strung together, then the home at 200 Bay Road in the Gardens section of the city is for you.

Its location on the northern tip of the entrance to Whale’s Tail Lagoon means there is nothing obstructing the view across Great Egg Harbor Bay. Of course, it’s also perfect for boaters, sporting 60 feet of waterfront footage and both a stationary and floating dock able to accommodate all of your water toys with ease.

“The location is just incredible,” real estate agent Bill Godfrey said. “It has breathtaking views from every vantage point.”

Built with an upside-down design to take advantage of the fantastic views, the three-story home has four bedrooms, three custom-tiled bathrooms, an open great room, gourmet kitchen and powder room, as well as multiple decks.

“Exterior amenities include a private deck on every level of the home,” Godfrey said.

It’s not much to look at from the street, since all of the action takes place out front along the water. A paver parking pad leads up to the two-car garage, which is heated and has an epoxy-coated floor.

A paver path leads around the left to a partially covered porch made of textured concrete, then continues past a raised, mulched bed with a border wall to the waterfront deck and docks beyond.

The patio is made of large square stone slabs with a small grassy area in the middle. Steps lead up to the boardwalk running along the bay, where there is access to the boat slips.

The view, in case I didn’t mention it, is fantastic here, probably 270 degrees. The sea spray combines with the sunshine to create rainbows in the air.

Back on the side porch, the main door, which features a large leaded-glass insert and side panel, swings open into the tiled foyer. A handsome set of wooden stairs with a banister and spindles rises to the right, while a coat closet is straight ahead. A hall leads past stairs down to the garage as well as to two bedrooms and a hall bathroom.

The bath has a Corian-topped vanity and a porcelain tub with walls tiled to the ceiling and sliding glass doors. The window is covered with a plantation shutter.

Each bedroom has wall-to-wall carpeting. One has a full-size bed while the other, which has a door opening onto the covered deck, has twins.

Back in the foyer, the stairs ascend to a landing with light narrow-plank hardwood flooring that offers two choices.

Left leads to the spacious junior master suite. It’s located above the garage, so its triple window overlooks the street. A sliding glass door opens onto a private deck. There’s a full-size bed atop the wall-to-wall carpeting and a full bathroom with a porcelain tub/shower.

Back on the landing, double bi-fold doors open to reveal a full-size Maytag Neptune top-load washer and dryer and cabinets.

Continuing in this direction, a short flight of stairs ascends to the great room.

The living room is to the front left and features a sectional sofa arranged around a gas fireplace with a wood mantel.

The entire front wall is made of windows or sliding glass doors, offering a fantastic view of the sun setting on another terrific day at the shore as dinner is served. The dining area is just inside the door in the front right and sports a long table that seats 10

The second-floor deck has a retractable awning over half, providing the option of sun or shade.

Just steps away, the kitchen has a polygon-shaped center island with bar stools. It has a granite top above custom-built cabinets in a distressed tan and a stainless-steel sink.

More cabinets with a granite counter and tile backsplash are located along two walls. Stainless-steel Jenn-Air appliances include a dishwasher to the right of the sink, a five-burner range/oven with a microwave above and a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer. There’s also a walk-in pantry that leads to a utility room.

Another set of stairs rises to the third floor, which contains only the master bedroom suite. The spacious bed chamber has the same narrow-plank hardwood as below. A king-size bed and two leather armchairs with ottomans fit easily in the space. Dual skylights provide abundant natural light, which is enhanced by the sliding glass door that opens onto the private deck sporting the best view in the house. This room also has a gas fireplace and walk-in closet, as well as a private bathroom with a long Corian-topped vanity with his and hers sinks, a fully tiled shower and a room exclusively for the Jacuzzi-like tub. The skylight helps make this room super special.

Other amenities include multizoned on-demand gas heat/hot water and multizoned central air conditioning. The home is being offered mostly furnished less exclusions.

The property is listed for $2.799 million with Bill Godfrey of Marr Agency. Call (609) 780-7363 for more information or to set up an appointment to see this wonderful home.
