Beachfront duplex offers multiple options for next owner of the island oasis

OCEAN CITY — The nearly identical beachfront condominiums at 2924-26 Wesley Ave. provide endless opportunities, from summer vacations for an extended family or large friends group to investment income weekly, monthly or seasonally.

Situated right in the heart of the popular Goldcoast section of the island, the homes are just steps away from a private path through the dunes to the pristine white-sand beaches of America’s Greatest Family Resort.

Each of the two units has a covered waterfront porch the width of the home, providing the perfect vantage point to check the tide and waves before heading out to the beach, or sitting in the shade with a cold drink in hand between sunbathing and heading out to the boardwalk for evening entertainment.

Scalloped siding in the peak matches the landward side of the home, where each unit has two sets of three windows above the garage.

The ground floor has a stucco exterior topped with vinyl siding on the upper floors, creating an attractive aesthetic. A walkway leads down the left to the sheltered staircase that leads to both homes.

From the stairs, the main door of the lower unit opens into the great room with tile flooring, 9-foot ceilings, two sliding glass doors and multiple tall windows with arched tops.

The kitchen, which is both functional and fashionable, is straight ahead, while the living room and dining area are to the left on the beach side of the home.

A quartz counter wraps around one side of the kitchen, partially separating it from the rest of the great room and creating space for four or five barstools for breakfast or overflow seating. Three pendant lights hang above.

Solid-wood Brookhaven cabinets feature soft-close, self-close door and drawers, while stainless steel appliances include a dishwasher to the right of the two-basin stainless sink, a five-burner range/oven with a microwave above and a refrigerator/freezer.

A long wood table with a glass top provides seating for six beneath a candelabra chandelier, while a sliding glass door that opens onto the porch provides abundant natural light.

Taking up the north side of the space, the living room features a sofa and four chairs arranged around a gas fireplace with a flat-screen television above.

A short flight of carpeted stairs ascends to the rest of the house, where there are four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a laundry room.

The first two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the hall, each featuring twin beds atop wall-to-wall carpeting and double casement windows, which provide both light and air.

The rear section of the hall, which leads to the shared bathroom and final two bedrooms, is tiled. On the right is the hall bathroom, which has a quartz-topped Brookhaven vanity, fiberglass tub with a tiled shower and sliding glass door.

Set in the rear, the third and fourth bedrooms are identical, each sporting a king-size bed atop wall-to-wall carpeting, a triple casement window and closet with bi-fold doors. The full bathroom has a corner shower and quartz-topped vanity.

Upstairs at 2926 Wesley, the layout is the same but the higher elevation comes with benefits, such as a terrific ocean view from anywhere in the great room or on the porch.

Other differences include the 12-foot-high ceiling in the great room and skylights in the upper hallway.

“This home has been meticulously maintained and has amazing ocean views, private garages, exterior parking and plenty of storage,” listing agent Kevin Halliday said.

Ocean City is one of the most popular shore resorts on the East Coast, featuring a 2.5-mile-long oceanfront boardwalk filled with hundreds of shopping, dining and entertainment venues, as well as miles and miles of pristine beaches. There also is an award-winning downtown business district centered on Asbury Avenue and a watersports district around Third Street on Bay Avenue.

The Goldcoast, from 18th to 34th streets, is centrally located between the Northend starting at North Street and the Southend ending at 59th Street. It is highly residential but peppered with mom-and-pop shops and features some of the most amazing beachfront properties on the island.

Movie star and princess of Monaco Grace Kelly spent summers in the family’s Goldcoast home. It was built in 1929 on the corner of Wesley Avenue and 26th Street.

The property is listed for $5,599,999 with Kevin Halliday of Berger Realty. Call (609) 425-7423 or email keh@bergerrealty.com for more information or to set up an appointment to see this wonderful home.
