Barbara Catherine Weber, 88

Barbara Catherine Weber, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 in the comfort of her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Florence Bezner and her infant sister, Doris. Barbara was born in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Frankford High School. She later attended Penn State University and would go on to complete her A.A. degree from the County College of Morris. Barbara was married for 64 years to the love of her life, Thomas Weber. They enjoyed dancing, traveling, and socializing with family and friends. She was a proud mother and mother-in-law to daughters, Susan Clark (Joe), Patty Cote (Bill), & Lisa Hagan (Michael). Barbara was a dedicated grandmother to Andrew (Faiza), Randy, Shelby (fiancé Dallas), Andrea (Ryan), Kyle (fiancée Francesca), Christina (Michael), & Michael Jr. (Kate). She treasured her great-grandchildren Sofia, Bailey, Rue, Anouk & Maryam. While living in Mendham, NJ and raising her family she worked for AT&T and the Flower Cart, and was actively involved in the girls schooling, including Girl Scouts. Later in life and seeking a more relaxed retirement, Barbara and Tom relocated permanently to Ocean City, NJ in 1995, where Barbara had vacationed since the 1940s. Barbara was an active member of the community, serving as the past President of the Ocean City Colony Club, an active member of the Book Club, Questers, Friends and Volunteers of the Ocean City Library, and the Recording Secretary of the Garden Club. She and Tom were also very active with Married Couples Club, and long time volunteers with the OC Food Cupboard. In addition to her volunteer activities, Barbara loved Scrabble, puzzles, bridge, Tai Chi, elephants, fashion and cute shoes. Barbara will be dearly missed by all who were lucky to have known her. A visitation for Barbara will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 10:30-11:30am at The Godfrey Funeral Home, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ. With a memorial service to follow at 11:30am.
