Barbara Ann Palmerio, 85

Barbara Ann Palmerio, 85, of Naples, FL, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice.

Formerly of Ocean City, NJ she began wintering in Bonita Springs 26 years ago, eventually making it her permanent home and more recently relocating to Naples, FL. Born on January 27, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Anna (Rubini) Panichelli.

Barbara was a proud graduate of Drexel University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, followed by a Master’s Degree in Education from Gwynedd Mercy University.

Her career began in retail as a buyer for Gimbels Department Store, before moving on to teach high school business classes in the Philadelphia School District. Barbara later served as an Executive Assistant for IBM, where she worked until her retirement.

Barbara was an avid golfer, who also enjoyed playing bridge and sewing, but her favorite pastime was shopping. She was a former member of The Nest Golf Club and the Ocean City Yacht Club, where she enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Anthony P. Palmerio; her loving children, John Lytle of Singer Island, FL, Ann (Stephen) Mariani of Villanova, PA, Diana (Joseph) Forys of Absecon, NJ, Cheryl (Joseph) McDonough of Ave Maria, FL, Anthony (Antoinette) Palmerio of Manasquan, NJ, and Theresa (Jon) Campo of Coudersport, PA; as well as 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Barbara will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5021 Harding Highway, Mays Landing, NJ 08330. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the start of the Mass at 11:00 AM.
