Antoinette J. Ruggieri, 91 

Antoinette J. Ruggieri, age 91, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., passed away peacefully on February 1, 2022 in Lakewood Ranch, FL.

Toni was born on July 24, 1930 in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. She moved to Philadelphia when she was 13 and attended South Philadelphia High School for Girls, Class of 1947. After graduation Toni married Frederick Monzo Sr. and moved to Waterford, N.J. They had seven children. Toni furthered her education and graduated from Glassboro State College (Rowan University) with a B.A. in Business Administration. Toni worked as Assistant Board Secretary of Haddon Twp. public schools, Business Administrator of Ocean City, N.J. public schools, and retired as Business Administrator of the Neptune, N.J. school district. Toni lived a full and rewarding life. She donated to various charities, volunteered at Virginia B. Andes Community Clinic. Toni was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, AARP chapter president, secretary of Port Charlotte County computer group, treasurer of Sons of Italy Lodge 2507, Silvers St. Katherine Drexel Church, Egg Harbor Twp., N.J., Sons of Italy Northfield, Cub Scout Den Leader, and lifelong member of Dixon Dots.

Antoinette was predeceased by husband Frederick Monzo Sr.; husband Daniel Ruggieri; two younger brothers, Lee Tagliaferri and Paul Tagliaferri; and son Fred Monzo Jr.

Antoinette is survived by her children, Anthony Monzo, Michael Monzo, Mary Monzo (Bernard Gignac), David Monzo, Dawn Monzo (Bill Martin). She will be dearly missed by her 11 grandchildren, Megan Thompson (Jeff), Andrea Monzo, Andrew Monzo, Christina Monzo, Ashley Monzo, Jonathan Monzo, Gianna Monzo, Adrianna Monzo and Madeleine Monzo; four great-grandchildren, Austin Barone, Alyssia Monzo, Alexander Thompson and Marielle Thompson; one great-great-grandson, Bentlee Barone; beloved sister-in-law Rita Monzo, Mary Ann, Bob, Liz Boccolini, Godson Frank Maccarella Jr. and family.

Blue-eyed Toni especially enjoyed strolling down the Ocean City, N.J. boardwalk with her grandchildren, shopping at Talbots Petites, sewing, reading, watching the Golden State Warriors, attending Chicago concerts, pink lipstick, cooking and baking Italian dishes for her family, and of course, Facebook.

Antoinette J. Tagliaferri Monzo Ruggieri will be missed and loved by many.

Services and cremation are private. Arrangements were under the direction of Sound Choice Cremation, Sarasota, FL.
