AL DeMICHELE, 75

Al DeMichele, 75, of Marmora. Passed away with his family by his side on January 10, 2024. Born in Castelpetroso, Italy to Felice & Maria. 

Al moved to Canada at a young age with his family. They stayed there to 1960 when Al was just 12 years old, they moved to Ocean City, NJ. He grew up in Ocean City and graduated from Ocean City High School. 

After high school he served in the Army National Guard. In 1970 Al began work for the Ocean City Municipality, eventually beginning his career as an Ocean City Fire Fighter. He served at as fire fighter for 20 years before retiring. After retirement Al began work as a State Fire Inspector which he did for 12 years. 

In his free time Al enjoyed photography, jeeping in Moab, Utah and watching Nascar races. One of his great accomplishments was becoming a fourth-degree knight in the ranks of the Knights of Columbus. 

Al leaves behind his wife, Diane (nee Cotshott); daughters Kathleen (Scott) Poolake, Amy (Josh) Wolfe; son Chris DeMichele; two grandsons; sisters Mary Ferrara, Anne (Dominic) Sirianni; and many nieces and nephews. 

Al was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Eno Ferrara. A visitation will be held Friday 9:00am-10:00am at Church of the Resurrection /Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 200 Tuckahoe Road, Marmora. With a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00am. Burial at Seaside Cemetery.
