Thelma A. Bates, 93

Thelma A. Bates of Ocean City, NJ, passed away on December 9, 2024 at the age of 93. 

She is survived by her daughters; Susan Lawver, Pamela Liddick, and Marianne Zgrablich, nine grandchildren,, and many great grandchildren. 

She was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, and then made Ocean City her permanent residence later in life.  Over the years, she enjoyed bowling, tennis, bridge, and needlework.  She was also an avid reader. Thelma volunteered for many years at the Ocean City Food Cupboard, the Ocean City Public Library, and served on the Ecumenical Council at the church where she was a faithful attendee. 

Relatives and friends are welcome to a celebration of life service on March 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Ocean City, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Thelma’s name may be made to the “Ocean City Food Cupboard” at the following address; Ocean City Ecumenical Council, P.O. Box 1001, Ocean City, N.J, 08226.
