SOMERS POINT – Like father, like son. The legacy continues for the Levin baseball dynasty.
Brody Levin, 18, is following in father Frank’s footsteps. “To this day, my dad is and was a stud baseball player,” he said. Levin aspires to follow the path his father has carved for him. “Growing up and watching him play made me fall in love with the game.”
Being a Somers Point native, Levin credits his hometown as a big part of his ascendency. “Somers Point has shaped me into the person I am today by teaching me how important family and friends are,” he said. Under the guidance of community members, alongside his coaching staff, Levin is quickly living up to the family name. His passion for the game cannot be understated.
Although Levin is a dual-threat athlete with a respectable career in football under his belt, America’s favorite pastime has a hold on him.
“High school baseball season is my favorite time of year,” he said. This spring will be Levin’s third and final varsity season at Mainland Regional High School. By the end of it, Levin wants to make his father proud and set a path for his own son to follow one day. Levin admits he wants to keep playing an elevated level not just after graduation, but into his later years, just like his old man.
According to Levin, his father found himself out on the West Coast, practicing his trade in an independent men’s league in California. “My plans after graduation are to play baseball at a college and study business and/or exercise science,” he said. He cherishes the idea of running a real estate company. Business must run in his blood, as his father works for the Quintin Group, a real estate firm.
Levin may not leave the trail his father blazed before him, but instead follow it to his own path of glory.
