Eleanor R. Leonard, 97

Eleanor R. Leonard, 97, of Mays Landing, NJ and formerly of Bridgeton, NJ passed away at Shore Memorial Medical Center on January 15, 2025. 

She was a 1946 graduate of Bridgeton H.S., graduated in 1950 from Syracuse University and in 1952 earned a Masters in Social Work from the University of Penn. She worked as a Psychiatric Social Worker for the Veterans Administration in Washington, DC, before settling in Willingboro, NJ. She married Richard Leonard in 1952, who passed away in 1989. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Katherine Rutala. Eleanor is survived by her sons Kelly (Mary) and Blake (Karla), and many other family members across the country. 

Eleanor lived 45 years in Willingboro, NJ and then 16 years in Ocean City, NJ starting in 2007. She enjoyed the Ocean City Senior Center, and many events in Ocean City over the years. Art, art history and music were important to her. Her favorite singers were Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra.

Eleanor donated her body to the Robert Wood Johnson Medical College in New Brunswick, NJ to help medical science and to be a help to others in the future.
