Chorale ‘Night
On Broadway’
SOMERS POINT – Cape Shore Chorale presents “A Night on Broadway” 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Grace Lutheran Church, 11 East Dawes Ave., Somers Point.
The event features music and gastronomical tastings to support the Cape Shore Chorale in providing free concerts twice yearly.
A $50 donation per person includes hors d’oeuvres, desserts, all beverages, and an evening filled with musical entertainment. The event is open to all who would like to support this community choir. Reservations are required.

Chicken, vegetarian and shepherd’s pie (beef) are available at $24 and apple, blueberry, cherry and pumpkin pies at $19. Pies come frozen and serve four to six. Orders due by Thursday, Oct. 31. Pickup will be Nov. 8, 9, 10.

OCEAN CITY – The Grief Support Group, open to any adult who is grieving the death of a loved one, is invited to attend a safe and caring gathering at 6:30 p.m. every other Tuesday year-round at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, corner of Eighth Street and Central Avenue, Ocean City.
There is no need to be a church member or from Ocean City to attend. “It is a time to share your story, to tell of your grief and talk of your loved one. The presentation will spotlight the merger between Cape Regional Health System and Cooper University Health Care, which was finalized July 1, 2024. slated for Nov. 24
CAPE MAY — The Cape Women’s Resource Fund will host a holiday luncheon and a play Nov. 24 in Cape May.
Doors open at noon for lunch at Elaine’s, 513 Lafayette St., followed by Cape May Stage’s production of “The Gift of the Magi.”
There also will be gift baskets in a no-bid auction and a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds benefit the group’s scholarship fund. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite holiday pin or sweater; prizes will be awarded for the most creative and festive.

Marine Mammal Stranding Center
BRIGANTINE – The Marine Mammal Stranding Center is hosting a fun-filled mile walk with furry friends Saturday, Nov. 9.
The Pup Strut event will be at 16th Street and Ocean Avenue, Brigantine, and proceeds will benefit the MMSC. Participants can enjoy a leisurely stroll with their pups along the beach and take photos with the MMSC’s very own “Luseal.” Humans and canine companions will be treated to a beautiful day at the beach, complete with lively music, pet-friendly vendors, and a goodie bag filled with treats like a Cupid the Seal bandana, pop-up water bowl, and other fun surprises.

‘Beauty of the Shore’
SOMERS POINT – The Somers Point Arts Commission is offering a three-session photography course this fall to capture the “Scenic Beauty of the Shore.”
Dates are Saturdays Nov. 9, 16 and 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Somers Point Senior Center, 22 North Ambler Road, Somers Point. Cost is $30 for all three sessions. Anyone 18 and over is welcome to register regardless of level of skill. Please bring only cameras that have manual controls (no cell phones).
Participants will learn incredible photo taking techniques from an experienced professional and topics will include planning, capturing and editing that perfect seashore photo.

TUCKAHOE — The “Handmade in America” Professional Craft Show is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Upper Township Community Center, 1790 Route 50 in Tuckahoe.
Every vendor is from New Jersey and every item in the show is made by skilled craftsmen. Admission is free; donations are always welcome.

Holiday bus trip
to New York City
CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County 4-H Program Advisory Council is hosting the third annual 4-H Holiday Bus Trip to New York City on Saturday, Dec. 14.
The bus trip is open to the public and only costs $60 for transportation to and from the city. While in the city, participants will be on their own to see a show, shop, visit a museum, or just walk around and enjoy the holiday sights.
The bus will depart from Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road at 7 a.m. and leave New York City at 7 p.m.

Special guest speaker will be Megan Santiago, health educator, Cape May County Health Department. She will speak about the importance of keeping minds sharp. The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program meets 10 months each year providing information and support to Cape May County grandparents raising their grandchildren. New families always welcome! Childcare is provided and a light supper will be served at 5 p.m. with the program following at 5:30 p.m.

Crisis Intervention
Families who are experiencing serious difficulties in managing the behavior of children 10 to 17 years old for whom they are responsible can seek assistance through the Atlantic County Juvenile/Family Crisis Intervention Unit (FCIU).
FCIU is a legally mandated program that is available 24 hours a day to intercede in family conflicts and help strengthen the family unit. Its services include short-term crisis stabilization, family assessment, case management, treatment planning and referrals to appropriate community-based services.
FCIU is available to meet in-person by appointment with youth and their families from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 101 Shore Road in Northfield. Appointments can also be conducted by phone or as a virtual meeting to help de-escalate and resolve family conflicts.
