The number of new cases of COVID-19 reported in Atlantic County has declined from recent weeks, dropping below 900 between Jan. 26 and Feb. 1.
The county has administered 23,193 doses of the coronavirus vaccine as of Monday, Feb. 1.
Statewide, there have been about 800,000 doses administered, including 664,548 first doses and 126,833 second doses.
There were 21 fatalities attributed to the coronavirus during that week, but that is lower than the previous two weeks. As of Monday morning, according to the New Jersey Department of Health, Atlantic County had administered 23,193 doses of the vaccine, including first and second doses.
With the 896 new cases, the Atlantic County Division of Public Health has reported 19,442 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020 and 460 fatalities over that time.
Egg Harbor Township leads with 3,459 cases so far during the pandemic. Atlantic City (2,412), Galloway Township (2,390), Pleasantville (2,092) and Hamilton Township (1,726) have the next highest numbers.
Galloway Township has reported the most fatalities – 74 – followed by Hammonton (64), Atlantic City (51), Egg Harbor Township (50), Pleasantville (44), Northfield (38), and Absecon (36). Only Corbin City, Folsom and Estell Manor have had no deaths among Atlantic County communities.
Northfield has seen 710 cases and there have been 579 in Somers Point and 430 in Linwood. Linwood has recorded 23 deaths and there have been 10 in Somers Point.
Vaccine clinics
The Atlantic County mega site at the Atlantic County Convention Center is open by appointment only for eligible patients. Go online to vaccination.atlanticare.org for more information, but as of Monday no vaccinations were being scheduled due to a lack of additional vaccines.

Daily counts
Monday, Feb. 1: There were 70 new cases among 40 females from 3 to 82 years old and 30 males from 1 to 78 years old and no deaths reported.
Northfield reported three new cases and Somers Point and Linwood reported one each.
Other new cases include Egg Harbor Township (18), Galloway Township (13), Atlantic City (10), Pleasantville and Hamilton Township (5 each), Absecon and Brigantine (4 each), Hammonton (3) and one each in Egg Harbor City, Mullica Township and Weymouth Township.
Sunday, Jan. 31: There were 134 new cases and two fatalities, a 70-year-old woman from Margate and an 85-year-old woman from Buena Borough. Of the new cases, 74 were among males from 4 to 94 years old and 60 among females from 1 to 89 years old.
There were three new cases each in Northfield, Linwood and Somers Point.
Other new cases included Galloway Township (33), Egg Harbor Township (32), Atlantic City (17), Hamilton Township (10), Brigantine (7), Hammonton and Ventnor (5 each), Buena Borough and Pleasantville (3 each), Absecon, Egg Harbor City and Buena Vista Township (2 each) and Margate, Estell Manor, Mullica Township and Weymouth Township (1 each).
Saturday, Jan. 30: There were five deaths – an 84-year-old Atlantic City man, an 86-year-old woman and a 92-year-old man from Egg Harbor Township, and two Galloway women – a 78-year-old and an 89-year-old from a long-term care facility. All five residents had pre-existing conditions. There were 124 cases, including 78 females from 1 month to 94 years old and 46 males from 4 months to 82 years old.
There were four new cases in Somers Point and three in Northfield.
Other new cases included Egg Harbor Township (21), Pleasantville (17), Galloway Township (16), Hamilton Township (14), Atlantic City (12), Brigantine and Hammonton (7 each), Absecon and Mullica Township (5 each), Ventnor (4), Margate (3), Buena Borough and Buena Vista Township (2 each) and Egg Harbor City and Weymouth Township (1 each).
Friday, Jan. 29: There were no deaths but 156 new cases among 90 males from 2 to 89 years old and 66 females from 6 to 87 years old.
There were three cases each in Somers Point and Northfield and two in Linwood.
Other new cases included Egg Harbor Township (32), Atlantic City (24), Galloway Township (21), Hammonton (19), Pleasantville (13), Hamilton Township (10), Ventnor (5), Brigantine, Buena Borough and Buena Vista Township (4 each), Absecon and Egg Harbor City (3 each), Margate (2) and Folsom and Mullica Township (1 each).
Thursday, Jan. 28: There were three deaths – a 73-year-old Absecon man, an 81-year-old Atlantic City woman and 68-year-old Margate woman, all of whom had pre-existing conditions – and 117 new cases among residents from 1 to 94 years old.

Wednesday, Jan. 27: There were four deaths and 123 new cases among 71 females from 5 months to 94 years old and among 52 males from 2 to 95 years old.
The deaths included a 69-year-old Margate man, a 65-year-old Hammonton man, as well as two long-term care facility residents – a 92-year-old Galloway woman and an 85-year-old Egg Harbor Township woman.
There were four new cases in Somers Point, three in Northfield and two in Linwood.
