Marilyn K. Moore, 97

Marilyn K. Moore, 97, of Ocean City, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2021 in The Shores at Wesley Manor, Ocean City, NJ.

Born on February 16, 1923 in Drexel Hill, Pa to the late Dr. Leon and Mrs. Kathryn Grisbaum.  She was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Alabama. 

Mrs. Moore had worked as a bookkeeper, had owned a laundromat, was the Commissioner of Finance for the City of Ocean City serving with Mayor’s Thomas Waldman and Luther Wallace in the 1970’s.  She was the first woman Commissioner in Ocean City.  She was a long time Real Estate Agent with Jess Real Estate in Ocean City and was very proud to be working until the age of 90.

She was predeceased by her husband Clark P. Moore on March 3, 1963 and her son Dennis Moore who was killed on March 17, 1975 while serving in the US Coast Guard in Cape May, NJ and her granddaughter Melissa Wren “MiMi” Moore on August 10, 2018.

Surviving are her son: Kenneth (Bonnie) Moore, granddaughters: Kenna (Mike) Sangtinette, Abbey Moore and great grandson: Koa.  Also surviving is her brother: Leon (Betty) Grisbaum.

Her funeral service and interment will be held privately in St. Denis Cemetery, Havertown, Pa.
