Ocean City police arrest six juveniles after they flee stolen car

OCEAN CITY – Ocean City police charged six juveniles after they fled a motor vehicle stop Saturday evening.

According to the Ocean City Police Department, uniformed patrol officers stopped a motor vehicle at the intersection of Ninth Street and West Avenue about 8:17 p.m. Saturday, June 8. The vehicle was reported stolen from Camden.

As police officers approached the vehicle, six subjects fled the vehicle on foot, but with the help of the Drone Unit, additional responding officers were able to apprehend all six subjects. All were determined to be juveniles, a 13-year-old male and 14-year-old male from Paulsboro, two 15-year-old females and a 16-year-old female from Egg Harbor City, and a 16-year-old male from Woodbury.

All six were charged with possession of stolen property, a third-degree crime, and obstructing the administration of law, a fourth-degree crime, and then released into the custody of their parent(s). Anyone with information can contact dlancaster@ocnj.us and/or (609) 525-9131.
