Ocean City Pride Fest June 1 hosted by We Belong Cape May County

OCEAN CITY – We Belong Cape May County is proud to bring back OC Pride Fest for its second year on June 1.

Starting at 9 a.m. at Sixth Street and the Boardwalk, join special guest Michael J. Hartman for an opening ceremony and Pride Walk. Hartman currently serves as the chief of staff for Pennsylvania State Senator Carolyn T. Comitta representing the 19th State Senatorial District – Chester County. He is the founding artistic director for the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company. The Theatre Company presents a full Broadway musical series that features performers cast through a NYC audition process. The Ccompany also prides itself in its successful summer Children’s Theatre Series and an extensive theatre, music, and dance education program with more than 300 kids involved each year. 

Continue with the celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ocean City Civic Center at 840 E. Sixth St., where family fun, community organization resource tables and live music await. 

Family fun will include face painting provided by Let’s Party Events, a special appearance by Miss Hammonton Pride 2023 Dallas DuBois, caricatures by artist Megan Smith, DIY recycled jewelry bar hosted by Steadyroots Homestead, Liz Tran Art and Creations, and Mermaid Tears Jewelry, photography by Katelin Keane and Adriana Palmer, balloon animals with Rudy Reel of Lucky Duck Entertainment, Queer Trivia with Karen L. Williams, and much more. 

More than 30 community organizations will be represented at OC Pride Fest 2024 to provide support and information. These include ACQA (Atlantic County Queer Alliance), Queer Headed, OCHS Prism Club, CARA, Ocean City Theatre Company, Cape Assist, Free Mom Hugs, Equality Cape May, Peyton Heart Project, Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Live music is provided by local musicians Tryptophan, Viktor Palmer and Maeve Stanford.
