Marmora firefighters respond to GSP crash

UPPER TOWNSHIP – A car rolled over and went through the guardrail at mile marker 23.1 southbound on the Garden State Parkway around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Marmora Volunteer Fire Department.

The company was dispatched along with the Seaville Fire and Rescue, Tuckahoe Volunteer Fire Company and Upper Township Division of EMS.

Initial reports indicated at rollover with a vehicle fire, according two the Marmora department, which had just cleared a minor motor vehicle accident on Roosevelt Boulevard near the GSP entrance.

When firefighters arrived, they found a two-vehicle collision, with one over the guard rail, but no fire. All of the occupants were out of the vehicles.  

Firefighters secured both vehicles and Upper EMS transported one patient to local hospital. All units were cleared about 5 p.m.
