Olive Lewis, 98

Olive Lewis, age 98, passed away at The Shores in Ocean City, NJ, on August 30, 2023. 

Olive graduated from West Chester College in West Chester, PA, where she studied English and Mathematics. She raised her family with her late husband, Joseph F. Lewis, Jr., in Milmont Park, PA and then in New City, NY.   She worked as a teacher and later at Macy’s in Nanuet, NY, before retiring to Egg Harbor Township, NJ in 1990. 

Olive spent most of her life enjoying Ocean City summers with her family and friends.  She participated in many church committees and was well-known for developing creative programs to help bring the Bible to life.  She spent the last 12 years of her life living at The Shores in Ocean City, NJ, where even at the age of 98, she fulfilled the role of treasurer for the Resident Council. Her kindness and quiet support will be deeply missed by her family and friends. 

Olive is survived by her daughters Pamela (late Edward) Fitzgerald, and Linda (Peter) Kontos.   She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kimberly Fitzgerald (Brian Laurito), Christopher (Marissa) Kontos, Lauren Kontos, and great grandchild Kennedy.  In addition to her late husband, she is predeceased by her parents and brother.
