Nearly 500 new cases in Atlantic County

There have been nearly 500 new cases of the coronavirus in Atlantic County from Tuesday of last week through this past Monday.

Cases were at a low of 33 on Oct. 27, but as high as 90 on Sunday as the total number of those testing positive for COVID-19 reached 6,178 since numbers have been kept.

There have also been 260 fatalities from COVID-19, but none since Oct. 28.

On Monday, the Atlantic County Division of Public Health reported 83 new cases of the coronavirus affected 44 females from 11 to 82 years old and 39 males from 7 to 67 years old.

Pleasantville, Absecon and Egg Harbor Township led with 16, 15 and 11 cases, respectively.

Hamilton Township reported six cases; Egg Harbor City and Galloway Township had five each; Hammonton had four; Buena Vista Township had three; Brigantine, two; and there was one each in Linwood, Northfield, Somers Point, Buena Borough, Ventnor and Weymouth Township.

Sunday, Nov. 1: There were 90 new cases of COVID-19 reported Sunday that include 47 females from 20 months old to 81 years old and 43 males from 7 to 81 years old. There were no new fatalities. 

Saturday, Oct. 31: On Saturday there were 76 new cases, including among 37 males from 6 to 70 and among 39 females from 18 to 79 years old. There were no new deaths.

Friday, Oct. 30: There were 83 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 17 in Pleasantville, 13 in Atlantic City and 11 in Egg Harbor Township.

They were spread among 43 females from 16 to 83 years old and 40 males from 8 to 79 years old. There were no new deaths reported.

Thursday, Oct. 29: Toddlers continue to show up in the county’s COVID-19 positive test results.

There were 45 new cases of the coronavirus, including at least one 2-month-old female and one 7-month-old male. The other cases ranged up to 81 years of age.

Wednesday, Oct. 28: There were 71 new cases of COVID-19 and one fatality in Egg Harbor Township, which had the most new cases (13).

There were 43 cases among females from 1 year old to 71, and 28 cases among males from 6 to 88 years old. The 65-year-old man who died had underlying health conditions, according to the Division of Public Health. There also was a fatality on Oct. 27, bringing the death toll to 260

In addition to Egg Harbor Township, there were eight cases in each of Atlantic City, Galloway Township and Pleasantville; seven in Hammonton; five in Hamilton Township; four each in Absecon and Margate; two each in Northfield, Brigantine, Buena Vista Township, Folsom and Ventnor; and one each in Linwood, Weymouth Township, Egg Harbor City and Buena Borough.
