Northfield police seize guns, drugs

NORTHFIELD — A months-long investigation culminated in the arrest of a city man and Somers Point woman on drug and weapons charges May 3 in Northfield.

Daniel G. Harvey, 21, and Alma Janson, 20, were arrested following the execution of a search warrant at the home.

Capt. Steve Steinecke stated in a news release that the Northfield Police Department worked in cooperation with the Crime Suppression Unit South of the New Jersey State Police to conduct the three-month investigation into narcotics trafficking from the home in the 400 block of Fairbanks Avenue after learning that occupants were distributing LSD and Psilocybin mushrooms. 

Authorities said the search warrant resulted in the seizure of a fully loaded 9 mm P80 privately manufactured firearm (ghost gun), a fully loaded 9 mm Beretta firearm, a fully loaded 50-round magazine drum, hollow-point ammunition, 10 ounces of Psilocybin mushrooms, 10 grams of LSD, more than $10,000 in cash, a money counter, scales and drug paraphernalia. 

Detective Keith Lyons of the Northfield Police Department initiated the investigation.
