Louis Taccarino, 70

It is with great sadness that the family of Louis J. Taccarino Jr., 70, of Somers Point, announce his passing after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, on Sunday, May 10, 2020. He will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, father, father-in-law, and grandfather.

Louis (Lou) was born in Ocean City, NJ on November 27, 1949 to Louis and Bernice Taccarino. He was born and raised in Ocean City, NJ and was a graduate of the famous Ocean City High School class of 1968 and later attended Widener University in Chester, PA. He spent his career as a real estate broker, real estate appraiser and home improvement professional. On April 21, 1984, he married Dorothy Burd (nee Taccarino). They raised one daughter, Samantha. From a previous marriage two daughters, Leslie, and Kristen.

Lou had a passion for fishing, golf, cigars, Fort Myers Florida, and all things E-A-G-L-E-S! He also loved music (mostly Jimmy Buffett) and traveling to warmer climates with his friends and family. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Lou was preceded in death by his father, Louis, his mother, Bernice, and his brother, Tony. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his three children, Leslie, Kristen, and Samantha, his son-in-law Robert, his sister Jeanne, his brother Timmy, and his grandchildren Shayna, Charlotte, and Thomas. A celebration of Lou’s life will be announced in the future. Donations can be made in his honor to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
