Lucy P. Cummings, 97

Lucy P. Cummings passed away peacefully at her home in Ocean City, New Jersey on October 31, 2021, at the age of 97. She was surrounded by her family, neighbors, and her best friend, Lisa Haas. Lucy was born in Brooklyn, NY, and spent her early years in an orphanage. As an adult, she lived in Pennsylvania before moving to Ocean City in 1997. She was an avid dog lover, showing her Basenjis throughout the Northeast. She adored her dachshund, Gretel, who was her companion for 13 years. She is predeceased by her late husband, Edwin Cummings, a World War two veteran, and sister, Frances Petrosky. She leaves behind a family that loved her very much including her nephews, Edward and Philip Petrosky and their wives, Chrissie and Cathie (respectively); her great- nephews and niece, Dr Edward Petrosky, Matthew Petrosky, Mia Scappatura and Dr Phlip Petrosky; and James Cummings, son of her late husband. She also leaves behind seven great- great nephews and nieces. Lucy loved life and lived it to the fullest. Anyone who knew Lucy would attest to that. She was a loyal Eagles fan and enjoyed the people of Ocean City. The family would like to thank all her wonderful friends and neighbors who helped care for her.
