EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — Championship day brought the 2026 postseason to a thrilling conclusion for the Thursday Ocean City Senior Golf League last week, with Garth Moyle capturing the A Flight championship and Tom Szkaradnik taking the B Flight title at Harbor Pines Golf Course.
Moyle Claims
A Flight Championship
In the A Flight championship match, Garth Moyle edged Frank Mancini, 2-1, on the front nine to take an early lead.
Moyle then continued his outstanding play on the back nine, winning three holes to Mancini’s one. When the final tally was complete, Moyle had earned a 5-2 victory and the A Flight playoff championship.
Moyle’s championship capped a strong postseason run. He advanced to the final by defeating Pete McInerney, 7-3, in the second round after opening the playoffs with a victory over Ben Fong in a dramatic tiebreaker.
Szkaradnik Takes
B Flight Title
The B Flight championship was another competitive battle. Tom Szkaradnik held a narrow 4-3 advantage over Joe Sheridan after the front nine.
Szkaradnik pulled away on the back nine, winning five holes while Sheridan won three. Szkaradnik’s 9-6 victory earned him the B Flight playoff championship.
Szkaradnik reached the final after defeating Tony D’Ottavio in the opening round and Rick Schultz, 11-5, in the second round.
Strong Scores Highlight Championship Day
While the championship matches took center stage, several other league members posted impressive net scores.
A Flight:

• Ben Fong — net 69
• Pete McInerney — net 72
B Flight:
• Tom Gahr — net 67
• Sam Malandra — net 69
• Mike Coffman — net 70

• Tom Visco — net 78
There were also several noteworthy shots during the round. Ron Venturi birdied the first hole, Ben Fong recorded birdies on holes 10 and 18, and championship winner Garth Moyle added a birdie on the 11th hole.

Season Celebration
This Week
With the competitive portion of the season now complete, league members will gather this week for a four-man team scramble and luncheon to celebrate the winners and the successful 2026 season.
