Karen Troutman Hoiriis Hasek

Karen Troutman Hoiriis Hasek passed away peacefully at Complete Care, Cape May Court House, on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025.

Born and raised in Wilmington, DE, she graduated from The Tatnall School in Wilmington and attended Principia College in Elsah, IL. Through the years she lived in Newark, DE, Clearwater and Bradenton, FL, and Palermo, NJ, and worked as a secretary and homemaker.  Karen was a devoted member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, MA.  She enjoyed sewing, birding, and doting on her pet cats.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 54 years, William R. Hasek, her sister Lelia Hoiriis, and nieces and nephews Leslie Hunt, Molly Kuick, Jonathan Hunt, Pamela Jones, David Hasek, Beth Foltin, and Sharon Rogers.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Holger Hoiriis, mother, Eldred Boynton Hoiriis, and sister Elsie Fell Hoiriis Paton.

A viewing will be held Thursday evening, December 4, 2025 from seven until eight o’clock at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ.

Burial will be held privately.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday December 19, 2025 at 1:00 pm at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo.

Memorials may be given to The First Church of Christ, Scientist, 250 Massachusetts Ave., Boston, MA 02115.
