Jean C. Dattilo

Jean C. (Austin) Dattilo passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on November 18th, 2025.

In her final years, she resided at The Shores at Wesley Manor. She was born in Ocean City, New Jersey on July 12, 1929, where she was a lifelong resident. Her parents were Lewis and Clare (Morey) Austin. She was a descendant of the Morey family, who were among the first settlers in Ocean City. She graduated from Ocean City High School in 1946, and was a member of St. Peters United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Linda J. Harr (Thomas), of Somerdale, N.J., James J. Dattilo Jr. (Linda), and Michael A. Dattilo (Julia) both of Ocean City, New Jersey.

She is survived by her sister and best friend, Betty Stahler, a special niece, Beth Guglielmo (David), and other loving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by nine grandchildren – Thomas Harr (Stacey), David Harr (Maggie), Greg Harr (Erica), Lynn Green (Ben), Douglas Skinner (Denise), Amanda Dattilo, Nicole Dattilo, Maria Dattilo, and Giovanna Dattilo. Fifteen great-grandchildren – Abigail, Phin, Phoebe, Moses, Austin, Davis, Essie, Jack, Stacia, Stella, and Scarlett Harr, Wesley and Julianna Green, and Gwen and Cormac Skinner.

She was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 54 years, James J. Dattilo Sr., who was also an Ocean City native. She is also pre-deceased by her parents Lewis and Clare Austin, her granddaughter, Allison Dattilo, her brother, Lewis Austin, Jr., her brother-in-law, Vince Stahler, and her nephew, Kevin Stahler.

Services were held at Godfrey Funeral Home, Palermo, N.J. at 11am with visitation preceding from 10am-11am on Monday November 24th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ocean City Ecumenical Council, PO Box 1001, Ocean City, NJ 08226 to assist Ocean City residents in need.
