Los Bomberos De La Calle

OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City Arts Center brought Los Bomberos De La Calle from the Philly Bomba Plena Cultural Center to Ocean City Intermediate School on Saturday, Oct. 18.

The music group performs Bomba and Plena music from Puerto Rico in both contemporary and traditional styles. Its mission is to “give a piece of Puerto Rican culture” to Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

A crowd of about 100 people not only got to enjoy listening to the music, but were encouraged to get up and dance along.

The group is led by Anthony Mendez and Katsi Lozada is the woman in the whirling skirts who had the crowd on their feet and dancing.
