OCHS girls, boys win Cape-Atlantic League Cross-Country Championships

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Riley Tolson and Erik Preisner led the Ocean City High School girls and boys cross-country teams to victory at the Cape-Atlantic League Championships Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Egg Harbor Township High School.

Tolson and Preisner were the individual winners, clocking times of 18:01.94 and 15:32.64, respectively.

The Red Raider girls won with 17 points in the 15-team field.

EHT was second with 51 points and Mainland Regional High School third with 108.

Ocean City’s Carly Godfrey was second in a time of 18:20.13; Lillian Flora third in 18:35.05 and Bella Cera fourth in 18:53.90. Fellow Raiders Peighton Clemens was seventh, 19:06.53; Lenna Driscoll ninth, 19:25.95; and Gabrielle Henry, 16th, 20:06.75.

Other top-10 finishers were EHT’s Meghan Johnson, fifth, 19:03.88; Cecilia Foreman of Mainland Regional, sixth, 19:04.72; Devyn Per of EHT, eighth, 19:23.50; and Addison Lambert of EHT, 10th, 19:26.53.

Other Mustang finishers were Ella Mokienko, 14th, 20:02.25; Lauren LaMonaca, 18th, 20:29.70; Adrian Sykes, 23rd, 21:32.46; Emily Dill, 47th, 23:35.65; and Sapna Patel, 67th, 25:49.91.

Boys

The Ocean City boys won with 23 points, EHT was second with 59, Cedar Creek their with 115, Vineland fourth with 129, Bridgeton fifth with 132, Middle Township sixth with 166 and Mainland Regional seventh with 203. Sixteen boys teams competed at the CAL meet.

Ocean City put all five scorers in the top 10.

Nathan Aschmann was second in 15:40.24, Keenan Neuman third in 15:57.35; Michael Romano seventh in 16:10.23; and Nevin Millstein 10th in 16:21.81. Red Raiders Benjamin McCarthy was 14th in 16:33.02, and Hayden Tarves 19th in 16:57.69.

Other top-10 finishers were Jamar Mack of Middle Township, fourth, 16:04.99; Sean Martino, Cedar Creek, fifth, 16:08.37; Liam Aspenberg, EHT, sixth; Matthew Reed, EHT, eighth, 16:12.09; and Vincenzo Vecchio, Cedar Creek, ninth, 16:18.43.
