Steven G. Jefferis

Steven G. Jefferis, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 3, 2021, after a courageous battle against cancer for 5 years.

Born in West Chester, PA, Steve was raised in Florida, lived in Springfield, PA, while working many years in the auto industry, before retiring to Ocean City, NJ.  He was a proud marine, serving 2 tours in the Vietnam War, and a member of the Ocean City, NJ American Legion Post 524.  Steve was a talented woodworker, hand-making objects & furniture for family & friends.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed country music.  A loving, caring & humble man, Steve will be dearly missed and mourned. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Joan; daughter, Kathleen Lasher (Brian); son, Charles (Elizabeth); Stepdaughter, Deborah Barrow (Kevin); Stepson, William Preston (Susan); Sisters, Bonnie, Shirley & Wanda; and 11 grandchildren.  

Steven was predeceased in death by his parents, Walter & Ruby. 

In keeping with Steve’s wishes, and due to covid restrictions, no formal service will be held at this time. The family will plan a life celebration for a future date to be scheduled.
