Local historians will display photos and explain how the infamous March Storm of 1962 devastated Sea Isle City and other communities in South Jersey.
The presentation will include a vivid history of the storm, outline how Sea Isle City was impacted during that harrowing three-day event, and spotlight the resilience displayed by the people of this community during and after the storm. Also, eyewitnesses of the storm will explain what they saw, and members of the audience will be invited to share any memories of the storm they may have. These first-hand accounts – combined with a series of stunning photos displayed on the Band Shell’s giant screen – will clearly illustrate how the storm impacted Sea Isle City.
Dr. Joseph A. LaRosa, Jr., a Storm of ’62 survivor and author of two books on the subject, will lead the presentation, assisted by Sea Isle City native Pat Haffert and other members of the Historical Society.
