Patricia Ruth (nee Heckman) Migliaccio passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Patricia was born and raised in Pennsylvania and would come to Ocean City every summer and stay at her father’s house at 1640 Boardwalk on the beach.
To those who knew Pat, she left an imprint on just about every person that passed her by. She was fierce, outspoken, and dedicated to not only her family and home life but to the city of Ocean City and the connections that came with it along the way. She was the kind of woman you could sit and listen to the life she led like it was a movie. From racing Nascar to chasing dreams at the casinos, she is and will always be known as a local legend. One of her most famous quotes was “Rip, sh*t, or bust”. Oh, and you can’t forget her iconic hairdo. “The beehive” as her grandkids would call it.
Pat was the buyer and manager of Drift in and Sea. She took great pride in her window decorations. Her grandchildren loved to visit her and look at all the displays.
But Pat is best known for being the “Voice of the Ocean City Boardwalk”. She made general announcements with her grace and style. Through the Music Pier Pat began helping the Ocean City Pops. Everyone knew Pat’s car with the License Plates “Pat Mig” and knew she would be greeting them at the door. A sample of Pat’s sense of humor over the PA System. She would announce the names of parents lost on the boardwalk and she had their child. If they were not picked by end of her shift should would take them home. They’d eat well if they did go to her home. She was one of the best cooks in the family.
Patricia was predeceased by the love of her life, Anthony M. Migliaccio “Sonny”. Also Linda D. DiMeglio her daughter and grandson Nicholas DiMeglio. She is survived by her son R. Tracy Migliaccio and wife Marie (nee Huber) Migliaccio. Their daughter Beth (nee Migliaccio) Sawrey and son Michael A. Migliaccio. Granddaughter Tina (nee DiMeglio) Ooley. She also is survived by nine great grandchildren and one great great- granddaughter.
A quote from Pat, “As you write a new chapter in your life story……Be gentle with yourself and trust your inner voice. Believe there are gifts in each new day. You have simply to untie the ribbons.”
She was laid to rest with her beloved “Sonny” in a private family service.
