Hidden cameras found in Ocean City Boardwalk restrooms

Police are investigating and will be doing more checks

OCEAN CITY – Hidden cameras were found in multiple bathrooms on the Ocean City Boardwalk, police confirmed Friday, June 13.

Lt. Dan Lancaster of the Ocean City Police Department Detective Bureau said officers responded to a report of a recording device found inside one of the restrooms at the public bathrooms at Sixth Street and Boardwalk about 12:25 p.m. June 12.

He said officers met with a subject who reported she found a hidden camera placed there.

Subsequently, policed searched all of the public restrooms on the boardwalk and found several additional cameras at the restrooms at both 10th and 11th streets.

The Detective Bureau is actively investigating the incident.

Lancaster said police officers will remain in the area of the restrooms and additional checks will be conducted.

“I want to assure the public that our detectives will use every available resource to find the person who placed these cameras, and any suspect will be prosecuted to the fullest,” Mayor Jay Gillian said in a press release issued by the police.
